Biography

B.A. Literature and Film, Fairhaven College, Western Washington University, 2001

M.F.A. Fiction Writing and Literature, Bennington College, 2010

My interests include investigation of the work of several transnational women writers in post-revolutionary Mexico. I continue to refine my understanding of aesthetics and identity construction by tracing influences across geographic, linguistic, and cultural borders, and by exploring the literature of travel, immigration, and exile. I write poems chronicling the days in the French Republican Calendar, and in addition to those, my book reviews, essays, and stories have appeared in literary journals such as AGNI, Brevity, and Structo. I teach introductory Spanish for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
