Marshall Brown gives keynote address at North American Society for the Study of Romanticism conference

Marshall Brown gave the keynote address in July at the annual conference of the North American Society for the Study of Romanticism. The talk, "Democracy Vs. Sonata Form: Ideological Work in Beethoven's Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op. 69," was given in the storied Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge Auditorium at the Library of Congress and was followed by an exhibit of original Beethoven manuscripts and other invaluable musical documents.
