B&W Photography Show by Yasi Naraghi at Café Allegro, May 2013

Submitted by Yuko Mera on

Yasi Naraghi (current Ph.D. student, M.A.2011) began taking photographs ten years ago with a Canon AE-1 and although she has expanded her collection to include a range of formats, the same Canon AE-1 accompanies her on travels. This series depicts individuals in scenes of prayer, leisure, and work. For the most part, the subjects were unaware of being photographed with the intention of creating intimacy in the distance between the camera and its subjects.

All photographs are silver gelatin prints.

Show runs through end of May at Café Allegro.
